The Actors’ Collab
Free Workshops
Every Wednesday
5:30 pm - 8:30 pm (PST)

What Sets Us Apart?
Quite simply, The Actors’ Collab (TAC) is a space created by actors, for actors. We welcome green & seasoned actors alike, as our goal has been to create a space where actors can come together to help each other grow in the craft & celebrate each other's gains. Collaboration over competition & gain-sharing over gate-keeping.
What TRULY sets us apart is our On-Set Experience (OSE) workshop. In this workshop, we partner with Three Amoebas Productions to create an on-set atmosphere that provides new actors with a stress-free way to become accustomed to being on set. It is also a wonderful opportunity for more seasoned actors to keep their set muscles primed for the next gig. Conducting this workshop allows us to record the scenes & monologues that we practice in the Zoom room.
Your Work || Your Director || Your Choice
We believe every actor should have a choice as to who directs them in this space.
-
Once you choose which scene/monologue to work on for the month, you also get the opportunity to decide who will direct you through that piece for the month.
-
The default workshop directors are Aubrey Shimek-Davis & Tabatha Brooke, with a rotating list of other actors who are open to directing upon request.
-
There is no requirement to pick a different director. You can have the same person direct your work every month if you’d like.
SHARED IN CONFIDENCE || KEPT IN CONFIDENCE
We understand that many projects place NDAs on discussing roles or sharing scripts, etc., but we also understand that actors can’t exist in a vacuum.
-
Therefore, all discussions & preparations for auditions & upcoming or current gigs will be received in confidence, whether or not an active NDA is attached to the project.
-
Anything shared regarding someone’s personal struggles or private life is a moment where a fellow actor is being vulnerable in a safe space. Please respect their privacy.
Don’t Be An Asshole || Speaks For Itself
This is a DRAMA-FREE ZONE & safe space!
-
We do not compete against fellow actors; we cheer each other on & build each other up.
-
Everyone starts somewhere & every actor’s journey looks unique. We meet people where they are & expect every actor to be kind & respectful of each other’s workshop experience.
-
Bullying or gossiping about others in the local industry is not tolerated.
That being said...
Privacy || Confidentiality
-
To drive the point home, I repeat, THIS IS THE SAFEST OF SPACES! If you ever need to report inappropriate behavior or harassment in our local industry or within TAC itself, you may contact us. Your privacy & confidentiality will be respected.
Workshops
Free Workshop || Real Commitmemt
We are stoked to provide this space for free, but that doesn’t mean we have no expectations of Collabers.
-
Every scene filmed in our OSE workshop must be worked on in our regular Zoom workshops. This helps us prep the shoot, make sure everyone is completely off-book & camera-ready before a piece is scheduled for an OSE workshop.
-
TAC requests that workshop participants stay “tuned in when logged in”. Meaning, we prefer that actors pay attention to work beyond their own. While we understand it is tempting to pop on to work your sides & then zone out, we can actually learn & grow a ton from watching each other actors learn & grow.
March - October
Wednesdays from 5:30p to 8:30p (PST)
-
The first three Wednesdays of each month are hosted via Zoom, focusing on memorizing sides, finding authenticity in character & playing with the emotional landscape that a character offers.
-
The last Wednesday of each month is our On-Set Experience (OSE) workshop, where we meet up in person to film the monologues & scenes we’ve worked together via Zoom.
-
The Three Amoebas arrive early to set up for the OSE shoot. Our partnership with this awesome little production company assures that our actors get professionally shot & edited clips, monologues & scenes to market themselves with.
November - February
Wednesdays from 5:30p - 8:30p (PST)
We utilize the colder months of the year to focus on EVERYTHING ELSE that comes with being an actor in today’s industry.
